One of the hardest events I’ve eeeever planned. (not even an event planner….ugh) Sobrang nakakastress pero keribels dahil successful ang surprise party. Since it’s her 18th, and alam naman natin na special yun for us girls, we tried to make her party, debut-ish as much as possible. What I mean is, typical debut; with 18 roses 18 candles and stuff.. even if we held it at Mcdo
It started on our recollection. I think it was a month before her birthday, she told us not to expect anything on her 18th kasi nothing will happen daw. She won’t celebrate, treat us to lunch, merienda or anything. As in totally, wala. It’s okay, we’re cool with that, it’s not like we’re craving free treats?!
Sa sobrang dami ng ngyari sa 18 years of existence nya, she deserves a celebration. Kaya naman we planned to give her a party. As in right after nya magkwento.. my friends gave each other the “we know what to do” stare. Then there goes Kamille. “Wag kang magalala, kami’ng bahala sayo” nice job, Kamille! And by that we are very honored to mentally stab you, as a reward for spoiling the plan! Haha kidding, lavyah!
But seriously we were all like.. make sure that’ll be the last. Cause we’re watching you, Kamille Samidan.
Anyway, planning was never easy. There was this time na kinakausap ko yung coordinator ng Mcdo then suddenly wild Maryse appeared! Pokemon levels! I ran as fast as I could to the nearest vacant table and pretended I was waiting for someone. Thank God she saw me when I was already seated! Galing no, she passed by my side (literally) without noticing that she passed by my side. HAHAHA ano daw?
Told her I’m with a guy/special someone, and I’m not yet ready to introduce this guy to her/my friends. Sinabi ko nalang, I’m gonna bring this guy on her birthday para surprise. I think she believed, thank goodness I don’t need to think of another lame excuse. Nghh sent her away right after, went back to the coordinator to settle things up.. and go home
Her birthday’s on November 3rd but the party occurred on November 5th. Tamang tama I’ve only one class on Mondays, my one and only 6-7:30pm class. Left the house at around 1 pm cause I’ve a lot of preparing to do.
- Get the cupcakes I’ve ordered
- Buy roses
- Talk to the coordinator about the program
- Stress about the party
- Talk to her high school friends
- Get someone to buy a cake
- Make a list of the people that are included in the 18, 18s.
- Stress about the party
- Stress about the party
- Stress about the party
- Stress about the party
- Stress about the party
- Stress about the party
Too much stressing isn’t it? I get to do all of those because my friends are busy with their own stuff and have no “free” time to arrange and stress about the party with me! You know.. sharing the agony
Just kidding, but ahh drawbacks of having one class on Mondays; you get to do all the things because you’re available
To the party!! (Pictures courtesy of johnpurontography. Thanks KJ for the awesome pictures!)
Only the closest people in Maryse’s life are the ones invited. Her siblings, college and high school best friends. Sadly her mom didn’t make it on her 18th party.. her sibs said their mom’s sick and she unfortunately can’t go. I honestly felt bad about it, pero keri lang at least her siblings were there 😉 The party was pretty exclusive (charot) hahaha we weren’t able to get along that much with her high school friends though.. but it was so nice meeting them all. 😉 kalog din sila like us, but we’re waaaay kalog-er (lol what a term)
Maryse entered the party area with Grimace (her favorite Mcdo character) she was crying tears of joy. It was really nice to see her cry, knowing that she’s really happy. You can clearly see her happiness despite the tears in her face. Tears of utter bliss and joy.
We had a little surprise for her.. 😀 Maryse was really shocked when the emcee mentioned the name of her father (who is working abroad) during the 18 roses. She then said; “Pag biglang lumitaw dito si daddy..nako” pero shempre impossible naman na nandon yung dad nya, so what we did was we printed a cut-out face of her dad and wore it as a mask. I wore it! I realized I forgot to cut a hole at the eye part kaya naman wala akong nakita the whole period.
Jose Rizal ang peg!
Adiós, Patria adorada, región del sol querida, Perla del mar de oriente, nuestro perdido Edén!
My favorite pictures!!
Maryse told us that she kind of sensed that something’s going on.. “Naka sense na ko na may mangyayari. Akala ko may surprise kayo and yung high school friends ko sakin ng sabay. Inisip ko pa kung kanino ako pupunta.. pero nung nakita kong magkasama high school at college best friends.. boom!”
There were also a lot of prizes left since iilan lang naman kami sa party and we didn’t have enough games throughout the program. So sa huli, kuha kuha nalang kami sa prize corner. Well I guess that serves as the souvenir.
It was fun. The party was a huge success! Thank you friends for all the help, I hope you guys enjoyed the party as well! I humbly apologize for being too harsh as I arrange the party. I was being lame and way too, I don’t know.. cruel maybe? You’d understand at least 75% of what I feel if you guys were in my shoes. Ha!
