I can’t believe it. I can’t believe I’ve seen One Republic perform live. I can’t believe I did it. I can’t believe I was able to see them by myself. Yes, I went to the concert by myself. I was a lone wolf for a night.
This was actually the first concert I’ve been to. Well third, technically. The first one was Regine Velasquez’s back in 2004/5/6-ish, I think? And the second was Gary Valenciano and Martin Nieverra’s “As one” concert two years ago, both held at Araneta Coliseum. I was just dragged by my parents to come with them so I don’t substantially consider those concerts as “concerts I’ve been to”, for I was just PHYSICALLY (not spiritually and mentally) present that time. 😛
I really wanted to see One Republic, though I’m not really a huge fan. I just love their songs! I even forced my siblings to sponsor my ticket because I don’t want to use my own money. My savings are going down the drain; I’m not willing to spend my own money for a concert ticket.. unless it’s Coldplay. I’m willing to spend my entire savings for Coldplay.
Since I’ve classes on Wednesdays, I had to go to school first before the concert. I left school at around 7 in the evening, reached The Big Dome at around 8:30. I went to the comfort room first to fix myself up and while I’m in the middle of tying my hair, the crowd started screaming. (which means the band is probably doing their opening act already) I immediately went out and ran as fast as I could to the nearest entrance because I don’t want to miss a single thing. I was screaming my lungs out as I record their opening performance and as I look for my seat. I was so thrilled! I can’t believe it’s already happening.
Concert highlights. Credits to its owner!
Amazing. They were freaking amazing on stage. They played a good combination of music from their past albums to the most recent! One Republic was absolutely fantastic, from the first song to the last… oh my God. I was very amazed by the entire performance. Ryan Tedder’s vocals and range were so awesome live, I swear. He can sing such high notes that I think is not humanly possible.(??) Truth be told, One Republic studio recorded songs sound really good, but they sound even BETTER live. So many feels I cannot seem to put them into words. 😀
I met someone that night. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Ryan Tedder. It was Booper, my seatmate. He started talking to me when he noticed that I was alone. We had some small random conversations throughout the concert. He was with two ladies (which is according to him are his workmates) and he didn’t seem like a creep to me so I just continued talking to him. Before we part ways, he asked me if; will someone get mad if he asks for my number. I laughed and said.. yes.
We even had a photo together taken in his camera and I have no idea if I (by chance) will ever see that picture. Anyway it was nice meeting you, Booper! And thanks for keeping me company last night!
I honestly didn’t regret going alone because I had fun. So much fun!!! I was blown away! It was such a great night and a great experience as well! The fact that I just watched One Republic perform live (by myself!) haven’t sunk in yet, so surreal. It was so worth it. I think my love for them just multiplied a hundred times. I don’t know how many times do I have to say this but they really are amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. AMAZING. Definitely a night I’ll never forget. 🙂
PS: Please bring Coldplay here in the Philippines!! Seeing them perform live would be a dream come true. 🙂

Amazing indeed! I had so much fun that night — that type of fun you don’t want to end. Check out my blog post of the concert at http://www.jamnbop.com/2013/11/onerepublics-native-tour-live-in-manila.html
Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to
grasp so much about this, like you wrote the e book in it or something.
I think that you simply could do with some % to drive
the message house a little bit, however instead of that,
this is wonderful blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back.
