Three more months to go before I go back to the homeland and I honestly cannot wait for eeeet! Yes, I miss home so much; I am actually glad I am not experiencing drastic “homesickness”, you know what I mean? But I seriously cannot wait to go back! (I even downloaded a countdown app for me to get even more excited! Lol) Maybe I just miss my family, my dogs and my bed. And the bum life, OF COURSE.. that I have not experienced for three months now. Jeez, if I were to give one adjective that would exactly describe the life I’m living here then it’d definitely be ‘exhausting’. Well, we’re talking about my case; 5am until noon everyday, one day off every week (which is always on a Sunday) and not being able to get ENOUGH sleep. That’s basically it.
I actually don’t know why I get the shittiest schedule every week. I have not even experienced going to work later than 6! I am always the one who has the earliest call time among the other 3 interns who works at Bella breakfast shift too. (who are my friends/schoolmates, by the way) I am always the one who does all the setting up in the morning. I don’t even know if I should perceive it as a good thing or a bad thing though; should I be alarmed because (maybe) there is something wrong with my performance and/or behaviour. Or should I be glad because the reason why they often give me the earliest call time and most hours every week is because they think I am responsible enough to do my job. I don’t know. Kapal lang eh no? Haha!
Anyway, to tell you honestly– getting insufficient amount of rest, having no social life, forcing yourself to sleep early, getting up at 4 in the morning and leaving for work not even before dawn are the only reasons why I don’t like this kind of work period. The workload is just fine. But those are the topmost factors why I (kind of) loathe this job. Disregarding all the not-so-good stuff that keeps on happening to me at work. *sobs* but since I have been trying really hard to look on the bright side of things, I began to apprehend these stuff as something that I need to go through as I grow up; something that I need to experience before I enter the ‘world outside school’–you know what I mean. This is an internship; I am here to gain work experience, therefore, I have no right to complain about my job just because there is something I hate about it. True enough.
Maybe the only thing I like about being in the morning shift is that I get to go home early and I (sometimes) get to sleep for the rest of the day. That’s the brightest side of it. Oh! And the pay check when you know you worked overtime. BRIGHT-EST.
PS: It’s often said that the most successful people are early risers lol
I’m gone to convey my little brother, that he should also go to see this web site on regular basis to get updated from newest information.
Hello Meng. (feeling close na naman ako. Haha) Anyways, I have been reading your blog posts. This one made me realize one thing- “Everything really (indeed) happens for a reason.” Seems like life has already preparing you to the kind of life what you have today. The early call time and stuffs about having to wake up early and arriving home late. You have been asking yourself, or wondering, or you don’t know as to why you always had the “shittiest” schedule of the week. Haha! You didn’t know – not until today. Sabi nga nila
” Trust God always. Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for the moment that is yet to come.”
Ganoin! Bongga! God Bless always po. XOXO
